Privacy policy

ACCR Electrical is an electrician based in Northcliff, Johannesburg. This page explains what personal information we collect, why, and what you can ask us to do with it under the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA). CJ Rademeyer runs ACCR and handles every privacy question.

What we collect

When you phone, WhatsApp or email us, or book a job, we keep:

• your name, phone number and email address
• the address where the work happens
• what the job involves, including any photos you send
• quotes, invoices and payment records

This website has no forms, no accounts and no tracking, so it collects nothing you type. The server that hosts it keeps a standard log of each visit: your IP address, the page you asked for, the time and your browser type.

Why we use it

We use your information to answer your enquiry, quote, book and do the work, invoice you, and handle any guarantee claim or complaint later. We also keep the business records the law requires. The server log is there to keep the site running and to spot abuse.

We don't use your details for marketing, and we never sell them.

Who else sees it

We share your information only when a job, a payment or the law needs it. Two examples: if you ask us to arrange a Certificate of Compliance, the registered person who issues it needs your address and job details. And SARS can require our tax records.

WhatsApp and Gmail carry our messages, so anything you send that way also passes through Meta or Google under their own privacy policies.

How long we keep it

We keep job details for as long as the job and its 6-month workmanship guarantee need them. Tax law requires us to keep invoices and payment records for five years. After that, we delete what we no longer need.

Keeping it safe

Only ACCR can see your information. We take reasonable steps to stop it being lost, misused or seen by anyone else.

Your rights

Under POPIA you can ask us:

• what personal information we hold about you
• to correct anything that's wrong
• to delete information we no longer need, or no longer have a reason to keep
• to stop using your information for a purpose you object to

Phone, WhatsApp or email us to make a request. If you're unhappy with how we handle it, you can complain to the Information Regulator.

Changes

If this policy changes, we update this page and the date at the top.
