Terms of service
Effective 6 November 2026
These terms cover the electrical installation, maintenance and repair work ACCR Electrical ("ACCR", "we") does for you. You accept them when you accept a quote, book a job, or let work go ahead.
1. Quotes
Before we start, we describe the work in a written quote or agree it with you some other way. A quote is valid for 14 days unless it says otherwise.
If we find more faults, or you change what you want done, the price and the finish date can change. Where we can, we explain the extra work and get your go-ahead before doing it.
2. Call-out, travel and labour
| Charge | Rate |
|---|---|
| Call-out fee | R250 |
| Travel | AA rate per km |
| Labour, 07:00 to 17:00 on weekdays | R300 an hour |
| After-hours labour | R450 an hour |
We charge travel per kilometre at the Automobile Association of South Africa's rate, on the round trip from our base in Northcliff, Johannesburg. We tell you the travel charge before we leave.
After-hours labour is the standard rate plus 50%. It applies between 17:00 and 07:00, on weekends and on public holidays.
We take emergency call-outs when someone is free to come out, so we can't promise a set arrival time.
3. Deposits and payment
Jobs under R2,000 need no deposit.
For jobs of R2,000 or more, you pay a 50% deposit before we buy materials or book the work. That includes solar, inverter and DB board installations.
You pay the balance when the agreed work is done, unless we agree something else in writing.
We take EFT and cash. Our bank details only ever come from ACCR directly. If someone else sends you bank details, or a message says ours have changed, phone 063 696 4588 before you pay.
4. Materials
The quote lists the materials for the job, or we agree them separately. If we special-order materials for you and you cancel the job, or the supplier won't take them back, you pay for them.
Materials we supply stay ACCR's property until they are paid for in full, unless we agree otherwise.
5. Workmanship guarantee
We guarantee our installation labour for 6 months from the day the work is finished.
The guarantee covers defects caused by faulty workmanship. It doesn't cover misuse, accidental damage, lightning or power surges, normal wear and tear, faults that were there before we started, faulty equipment you supplied, or work someone else has altered, repaired or tampered with.
Manufacturer warranties on products and equipment are separate and follow the manufacturer's own terms.
6. Cancellations, access and delays
You can cancel an appointment free of charge if you give us at least 24 hours' notice.
If you give less notice, or we can't get in at the agreed time, we may charge the R250 call-out fee plus travel.
Supplier stock, weather, site conditions and access problems can push the schedule out, and so can other things outside our control. If a delay is significant, we let you know.
7. Certificates of Compliance
ACCR does electrical installation, maintenance and repair work. ACCR does not issue Certificates of Compliance (CoCs).
If you need a CoC, a registered and authorised person has to issue it, and you arrange that separately. Any inspection, testing, repair work or certification fees get quoted separately, and you approve them before the work starts.
ACCR will never tell you a CoC has been issued unless the authorised person has done the inspection and issued it.
8. Your side of the job
Give us safe access to the work area. Tell us about any electrical or site hazards you know of, and make sure any permissions the work needs are in place.
Please keep pets away from the work area and move valuables and fragile items out of it. We take reasonable care while we work.
We may stop work if conditions are unsafe, or if we can't get the access or information we need to finish.
9. Complaints
If something is wrong with work we did, tell us as soon as you can and give us the details. We aim to respond within 2 working days.
Where it makes sense, we come out to inspect the problem and check whether the workmanship guarantee covers it.
10. Liability
We do the agreed work with reasonable care and skill. Nothing in these terms limits a right or a liability that South African law doesn't allow us to limit.
As far as the law allows, ACCR is not responsible for loss or damage caused by faults that were there before we started, site conditions you didn't tell us about, equipment you supplied, misuse, or work done or altered by someone else.
11. Your personal information
Our privacy policy explains what we collect when you contact us or book a job, and what we do with it. The cookie notice covers this website.
